Sara Asadi, known professionally as Ereesa, is a Persian American artist with a master’s degree in Interior Architecture and Design. Currently a resident artist at the Harwood Art Center in Albuquerque, NM, she specializes in dot mandala art, a practice that merges aboriginal art and ancient mandalas with a modern twist. Her influences span from the rich geometric traditions of the Middle East with serene, meditative designs, fractal designs, and symmetrical patterns in nature.
Ereesa works primarily with acrylics on wood, drawing inspiration from the artistic traditions of various cultures, reflecting themes of heritage, diversity, and cultural interconnectedness. Each piece she creates serves as a personal meditation, a process that she finds deeply calming and centering. Her art often resonates with viewers in the same way, offering them a sense of peace and completeness.
Her work has been exhibited at ART Santa Fe, Ghostwolf Gallery, Wolf Martinez Gallery, and the New Mexico State Fair Fine Art Gallery, Harwood Art Center exhibition, among others. Ereesa’s work also makes appearances in various markets and corporate events, such as Intel Corp events and local Albuquerque markets such as Downtown Growers Market and Rail Yards market.
For Ereesa, art is not only a form of expression but also a meditative experience, inviting both the artist and the viewer into a space of serenity and introspection.
